Vida at 888 Ala Moana

vida-40Planned to premiere in 2017, Vida at 888 Ala Moana is a 38-story condominium tower housing 265 units. This luxury high-rise will cover 3.5 acres and is planned to meet LEED certification with an energy-efficient design and features.

Vida at 888 Ala Moana is part of Kamehameha School’s “Our Kakaako” master plan, which aims to add seven residential towers with 2,750 units and 300,000 square feet of commercial space on 29 acres on nine city blocks. Currently located on the current site of Cutter Honolulu car dealership, Vida is just minutes from Kakaako Waterfront Park and Kewalo Basin Park, and Ala Moana Beach Park is just down the road, where residents can enjoy spans of green lawns and golden sand. Lifeguards, lockers, restrooms, and even a music pavilion are also available at the park. In Vida’s neighborhood, a mix of shops, restaurants, and cafés are being planned for the commercial spaces at the base of the tower.

The two- and three-bedroom floor plans will feature spacious lanais and foyers, but further interior details have not yet been released. The layouts will be built in a way to limit direct sunlight in the condo, so to avoid too much heat and high cooling costs.

Additionally, residents will be delighted with the on-site community amenities. Catch a film in the movie theater, get playful in the game room or children’s play areas, and improve your swing at the putting green. Vida is great for hosting guests as well, with two guest suites and a community dining area with a professional kitchen. There is lots of extra storage with the bike and surfboard lockers, too.

Residential units are planned to start on the seventh floor, so every unit can enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean or Diamond Head. Another unique feature of Vida is the elevator access. With the six elevators, residents can take the lift directly to their unit, without having to use the shared hallways.

Developers of Vida at 888 Ala Moana are the Kobayashi and MacNaughton Groups, who also developed top tier luxury buildings in Honolulu and along the Ala Moana stretch such as Hokua, One Ala Moana, Capitol Place, and more. Designs for the project were done by Honolulu’s Benjamin Woo Architects and Los Angeles’s Arquitectonica.

Prices for a luxury Vida condo are expected to start at around $900,000 and reach well over $4 million.
